Closed Basketweave Ankle Taping
This taping was applied to an athlete who had recently suffered a grade I ankle sprain. She is participating in functional rehabilitation exercises and is able to walk without a limp. This tape job was applied to give the ankle extra support and stability during practice. This tape job will be modified to a less supportive tape job and she will gradually be weaned away from the taping as her ankle gains more strength.
The athlete holds the ankle in
90 degrees of dorsiflexion.
Two anchor strips are placed
on the distal leg.
