Shoulder Spica with Protective
Acromioclavicular Pad
A field hockey player received a grade 1 AC sprain. She was still allowed to play but experienced a large amount of pain when contact was made to the area. A foam pad was made with a circle cut out in the center of it. The AC joint was to be positioned within the cut out area of the pad. This allows pressure to be dispersed away from the injured site. An elastic wrap was then used to maintain the pads position and also give the shoulder some added support.
